Another Hotpoint dishwasher safety notice involving the potential risk of a fire. Dishwashers are a worrying source of fires and this is the second one in recent years from Hotpoint (see link at bottom of article) although to be fair this is an old dishwasher so there’s likely to be relatively few still running.
Which models are affected?
UK Hotpoint dishwashers manufactured between January 1999 and September 2003 with the following model numbers –
- DWF30
- DWF31
- DWF32
- DWF33
- DWF34
- DWF35
- DWM37
- DC26
Hotpoint recommend not to leave the dishwasher unattended while in use, “for your peace of mind”. I recommend not to leave any dishwasher, tumble dryer or washing machine unattended when in use to reduce the seriousness of consequences if they catch fire (Fire risks in appliances).
If you have one of these models get in touch with Whirlpool the manufacturer.
