Electrolux, Moffat and Tricity Bendix built in ovens safety notice

RISK
RISK
A safety notice has been issued involving built in ovens manufactured by Electrolux under the Electrolux, Moffat and Tricity Bendix brands. The issue involves single built in electric ovens (no product purchased before March 2007 is affected).

Quote: Our quality control programme has identified under certain circumstances there is a potential risk of fire whilst using the grill function on a limited number of Single Built In Electric Ovens branded Electrolux, Zanussi-Electrolux, Moffat and Tricity Bendix.

There are no details on the exact nature of the risk but they do say, “if your oven is affected you must ensure that you use the grilling function, with the oven door closed in line with the manufacturer’s instructions.” For more details including checking if your oven is affected and what to do if it is try these links –

Trading Standards product recalls

I did have a link to the notice on the Electrolux site but the page it went to has been removed. I can now find no mention of this notice anywhere on their site. Presumably they are 100% happy that every single appliance affected has been dealt with and it’s not possible for any to be still in use and at risk from catching fire? If you need more information on this issue try contacting them here – Contact Electrolux

If any of the above links are broken please contact me so I can try to fix it. Unfortunately these companies have a habit of taking pages down or moving them, even when they contain seriously vital information.
