Safety Warning
Safety Warning
This is a rare recall by Miele, one of the highest quality washing machines in the UK market. These washing machines are the commercial range of washing machines.

Miele have realised that hot water and foam could suddenly escape through the detergent dispenser drawer under a certain combination of conditions when used on the Kitchen Linen programme on commercial washer-extractors from the PW 6055 and PW 6065 series produced since November 30, 2009.

Unfortunately due to the way the Trading Standard’s web site is designed I can’t currently link to specific product recalls so I’ve had to reproduce their recall notice below.

The following notice has been issued by the manufacturer: Miele

Product warning issued by Miele & Cie. KG Washer-extractors from the PW 6055 Vario and PW 6065 Vario series

    Hi Andy,

I am glad you have published this as my Mum has one of these 3286 beauties sat in her kitchen. She doesn’t use the kitchen linen programme so all is fine, thankfully.

If it is escaping from the drawer the it will be sudslocked during the spin. Come to think of it Mums Miele has been updated as JTM came back to adjust the water levels a week after installation. They said it was a spin update. I bet thats what it was.

Thanks for publishing it again Andy,

    All the best,

    Oliver.

PS. Its a bloody good washer though, nothing domestic or commercial comes close to this beast, well worth the money.

    Hi Andy,

Not really. Its an investment, it will see them both off the planet, she does 20+ loads a week and wanted a machine to last. We knew nothing would stand up like the 10 year old Siltal so whatever she bought had to be commercial, oh and stainless steel.

She will be lucky to see 6 months out of a cheap machine. Mid range maybe 2 years. Even a domestic Miele won’t last, she found one with a 10 year parts and labour warranty so she phoned Miele to ask if they would cover her useage. The warranty would be void. All domestic manufactureres say the same as they laptop the machines and all is revealled so to speak.

She looked at every commercial made but getting one to fit in a domestic kitchen isn’t easy, plus it had to be short cycles, high water use and rinse properly. It had to have a heater too.

So on the grand scheme of things 3286 for a machine that will do 30,000 cycles is a bargain, its easy to repair too.

    All the best,

    Oliver.
