Appliance Error Codes | Whitegoods Help

💡

Quick answer

Select your appliance type below to go straight to the relevant error code hub. Each hub covers all major brands with specific code tables, causes, and step-by-step checks. If you need help understanding what an error code actually means before looking up your brand, our washing machine error codes guide covers that in detail.

Find error codes by appliance type

🧺

Washing machine and washer dryer error codes

The most comprehensive error code resource on the site. Covers Bosch, Samsung, LG, Zanussi, AEG, Whirlpool, Hotpoint, Indesit, Hoover, Candy, and many more brands, with full code tables, causes, and checks for every code. Also explains how to read flashing light patterns on older machines, and how to interpret codes correctly before taking action.

🌬

Tumble dryer error codes

Tumble dryer error codes vary significantly by brand and are less standardised than washing machine codes. Many older tumble dryers communicate faults through indicator light patterns rather than alphanumeric codes. A dedicated tumble dryer error code hub covering all major brands is in development. In the meantime, our tumble dryer fault guides cover all major fault types by symptom.

💧

Dishwasher error codes

Dishwasher error codes typically cover fill faults, drain faults, temperature faults, and door sensor faults. A dedicated dishwasher error code hub covering all major brands is in development. For Hotpoint dishwasher faults, our Hotpoint dishwasher E10 error code guide is a useful starting point. Our dishwasher fault guides cover all major fault types by symptom.

❄

Fridge freezer error codes

Modern fridge freezers increasingly show error codes on digital displays, particularly at the premium end of the market. Codes typically indicate temperature sensor faults, defrost system faults, or communication errors between compartments. A dedicated fridge freezer error code hub is in development. Our fridge and freezer fault guides cover all major fault types by symptom.

🔥

Oven and cooker error codes

Oven error codes typically indicate temperature probe faults, element faults, or communication errors with the control board. Bosch, Neff, and Siemens ovens share a diagnostic platform with their washing machines, so the code structures have similarities across the ranges. A dedicated oven error code hub is in development. Our oven and cooker fault guides cover all major fault types by symptom.

Before you act on any error code

Error codes tell you which part of the machine’s self-diagnostic system detected a problem — not necessarily which component has failed. The same code can have several different causes, and experienced engineers always investigate further rather than replacing parts on the basis of a code alone.

Our washing machine error codes guide covers this in detail, including why codes can mislead and how to use them correctly as part of a proper diagnosis rather than as a definitive verdict.

Error code pointing to a fault you cannot resolve?

If basic checks have not cleared the fault and the code is pointing to a component failure, a qualified engineer is the right next step. Our repair booking service covers all major appliance brands and types nationwide, with genuine spare parts available for most models if you prefer to attempt the repair yourself.

Andy Trigg (Whitegoodshelp) 0 replies IE error means "pressure switch fault" and OE means "Overflow Error". Both errors seem related as water levels are controlled by the pressure system. The machine doesn't seem to be getting the signal that there is enough water in the machine so may be it's overfilling and triggering the OE error. Whitegoodshelp (Andy Trigg) 0 replies Normally, the error code should reset itself once the error has been fixed. You can't reset an error code if there's still a fault, and if there's no fault any more there shouldn't be an error code displayed.
