Gas leak risk with some Bosch and Neff gas hobs
A safety notice has been issued for certain Bosch and Neff built-in gas hobs. A potential fault with the gas connector means gas can escape in an uncontrolled manner, creating a risk of explosion in extremely rare cases. If you have one of the affected models, stop using the hob immediately and turn off the gas supply.
Affected Bosch and Neff gas hobs have a potential weakness in the installed gas connector. In certain circumstances this can allow gas to escape. BSH (the manufacturer) is offering every owner of an affected appliance a free replacement of the gas connector. Turn off the gas supply to the hob now and do not use it until the repair has been completed.
Which Models Are Affected?
The following built-in gas hobs produced between January 2009 and October 2011 are affected:

What to Do

Turn off the gas supply to the hob immediately and stop using it. Do not use the hob again until the gas connector has been replaced by a qualified engineer.

Check whether your hob is one of the affected models using the production date and model number. Full instructions for checking your specific hob, including a photograph of the affected models and a freephone contact number, are available on the BSH safety notice page.

Do not attempt to inspect or replace the connector yourself. If you smell gas at any time, leave the property immediately, do not operate any switches, and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.
These hobs were manufactured between 2009 and 2011. If you know anyone who has a Bosch or Neff built-in gas hob from this period, please share this notice with them. The affected models may have been installed for many years without the owner being aware of the safety concern.

I was really surprised as to the potential of Gas leaks as the above products have always had a reputation for being the best when they were produced in Germany. Sadly we don’t know the providence of where goods are being produced now days which might account for failing standards and inferior products.
I’ve got a white goods that are 2O years old and still going strong. Thanks for alerting us to the potential problems as I was considering Neff
