The Dyson CR01 washing machine error code f11 has an explanation, but it’s not overly helpful. It’s arguably one of the many next-to-useless error codes that I talk about in my appliance error codes article.
Error explanation
According to Dyson, error F11 means “no motor action”. This simply means that the motor isn’t turning, or at least the control pcb isn’t getting any indication that the motor is turning. This fault could be equally observed by just looking through the door glass and seeing that the drum isn’t turning.
With a washing machine, if the motor is not running this can be caused by many different things. This error code doesn’t give any clues as to what might be wrong. It doesn’t say the motor is faulty, or the belt has come off, it just says the motor isn’t running.
It does give a general area to fault-find with, but unless you know how to troubleshoot this fault, which can be caused by something as simple as a poor connection, or as expensive as the motor or PCB, you won’t be able to do much with the explanation. You certainly should not guess at parts. I have some advice on this fault here – Washing machine drum won’t go round.
