John Lewis JLDWW1201 dishwasher safety notice

Fire Risk The other day I posted about the AEG-Electrolux dishwasher safety notice but bizarrely the important safety notice publicity doesn’t mention the John Lewis dishwasher, which is made by the AEG-Electrolux group and apparently similarly affected.

As it happens I popped into a John Lewis store this morning and they had a safety notice on the counter in the white goods section.

JLDWW1201 dishwasher

Serial numbers affected are between 62400001 to 72399999

If you have one of these dishwashers, don’t use it again until you have telephoned 0800 7076258 as soon as possible.

  1. I received an email the other day from a (rightly) concerned dishwasher owner –

I have a JLDWW1201 bought from JLP, Ser No.62440043. Your website suggests that this model/ser has been recalled due to faulty connector component and risk of machine going on fire. I have contacted Electrolux to check if this is correct – they inform me that this model of dishwasher is not affected at all. I would be grateful for a prompt response, to clarify.

Needless to say I have contacted Electrolux / Zanussi to clarify this and assured the concerned John Lewis dishwasher owner that I personally copied the information on this warning from the notice on the John Lewis counter in Sheffield.

I will update with anything I find out. If anyone has any further information please contact me

  2. 20/04/2013 – Just had a massive fire created by a John Lewis jldww1205 Dishwasher (purchased05-2008) so it looks like the issue is still there in later models Insurance company following up the issue
