How it works
Tell us what's broken and where you are, compare independent engineers serving your postcode, and book directly with the business you choose.
The process
Including the part most directories skip: what happens once you have picked someone.
Businesses set the postcode districts they cover, so a search returns the ones that genuinely travel to you rather than everyone within a radius. Add the appliance to narrow it to businesses that work on it.
You need your postcode. No account, no sign-up.
Each listing shows the call-out price, the appliances and brands the business works on, their customer rating, and the checks they have completed. The profile carries the rest: coverage, guarantees and reviews in full.
Nothing is ranked by who paid the most. Listings are ordered by relevance to your search.
The profile carries the business's own phone number and website. You ring the one you picked and arrange the visit with them, on the terms shown on their profile. Nothing goes through us and no account is needed.
One business, chosen by you. Your details are not sent to a panel of competing firms.
The engineer carries out the work and invoices you directly, on the terms shown on their profile. Afterwards you can leave a review, which is moderated before it appears.
You pay the business directly, never this site.
Responsibility
Your repair contract is with the business you choose. Whitegoods Help – Find an Engineer is the directory that helped you find them.
Who your contract for the work is with.
The directory that helped you find them, and nothing beyond that.
Whitegoods Help – Find an Engineer is a marketplace operated by NAC (Domestic Appliances) Ltd. We connect consumers with independent appliance repair businesses; we are not the service provider and do not carry out repairs ourselves.
The checks
Seven checks, listed one by one on every profile. There is no single badge standing in for all of them, because businesses differ in what they have provided.
All seven are shown here. On a profile the checks that business has completed are coloured and the rest grey, recorded as verified at the time - not a guarantee of the work.
Read the standards in fullPricing
Businesses price their work in different ways, so a listing says which model that business uses rather than flattening them all into one figure.
A set charge to attend and diagnose, with the repair quoted on top once the fault is known.
One price covering the visit and the repair for that appliance type.
No published figure. The business quotes once they know the appliance and the fault.
Every listing shows whether VAT applies and how parts are handled. You pay the business directly, on their terms - never this site.
Reviews
Reviews are submitted by customers and moderated before publication. We may edit or remove content that breaches this policy; original submissions are retained, and review sentiment is never altered.
