Common questions

How the directory works, who sets the prices, and who to contact if something goes wrong with a repair.

Questions

Answers, all on the page

No drawers to open: seven short answers, so a reader with one question does not have to guess which of seven it is behind.

  • How do I arrange a repair?

Search for engineers covering your area, then compare their profiles, pricing and completed checks. When you have chosen one, use the phone number or website on their profile to contact them directly. The arrangement is with that independent business, not with us, and no account is needed to see their details.

  • Do I need an account?

No. There is nothing to sign up for and no enquiry form: every profile carries the business's own phone number and website, and you contact them on those directly. You only need your postcode to start.

  • Who sets the prices?

Each independent business listed on our marketplace sets their own pricing structure, call-out fees, and labour rates. The figures on a profile come from the business, so agree the price with the engineer before any work starts.

  • How do I cancel or change a booking?

Your appointment is arranged with the business, so any change or cancellation is arranged with them on the same number you used to book it. We do not manage their schedules or have access to their booking systems.

  • What if I have a complaint about a repair?

Any issues relating to the service provided, workmanship, or parts must be resolved directly with the independent business that carried out the repair. If you wish to notify us about a business's conduct in relation to their listing on our platform, you can reach out via our contact page, but please note we cannot mediate financial or service disputes.

  • How do I leave a review?

Reviews are left on the profile of the business that carried out the work, after the repair. Every review is moderated before it appears, and a business cannot have one taken down for being unflattering.

  • How are businesses checked before listing?

We perform checks on identity and business details before listing them on our directory. The specific checks completed for each business (including evidence of Public Liability Insurance, if provided) are detailed on their individual profile pages.
