Washing machines use high power. As a result, it is still sucking and distributing energy even when it is unplugged. If you are attempting to repair your washing machine, take extra precautionary measures. Get rid of excess water on the floor. Wear rubber sleepers and cotton gloves. And waiting for up to 10 minutes before fixing your washer is also a sound advice.

Pressing the on/off button a few times or holding it in for 20 seconds may help to discharge components. I would still wait 10 minutes or so. this is merely an added layer of safety.
