I note that the W 3844 WPS Allerwash has been discontinued in the UK.
The equivalent Australian machine, the W3845 MedicWash is also discontinued here.

However, I believe I read somewhere that Miele would generally hold spares for 20 years on discontinued models. And as there is not a lot of difference in most components in this machine (assumption) as to other machines, surely many compatible parts would be available… Motor, drum, pump etc.
Therefore, if a local supplier has a “runout price” on a Miele MedicWash, do you think it would be a good buy? Like, a saving of $600 Aus? All prices on Miele over here are set by Miele Australia, so any discount on these is rare.
I assume it is being discontinued due to its unpopularity, that is they probably haven’t sold too many. I certainly cannot find any customer reviews on this specific machine (3844 / 3845).
Your thoughts and advice on this would be appreciated. Thanks!

There was an International agreement that spares would be made available for 10 years after a model is discontinued although it only ever included functional spares. Over recent years this agreement has been allowed to drop down to about 8 years (presumably as the average washing machine lifespan has reduced)

Miele would have no excuse for not having spares available for longer as they claim their machines are designed to last 20 years. As you say, specific models often don’t have totally different main parts.
