Is John Lewis the best place to buy white goods?

If you value high quality customer service and the comfort of knowing that if something went wrong with the process or even the product the retailer would genuinely care, and strive to put things right then I think they are. They currently give free delivery, plus an extra free 2nd year guarantee on all washing machines. (Speaking of guarantees they also give an extra 2 years guarantee on their own brand washing machines making 3 years in total and give 5 year guarantees on TVs)

I reported in November that John Lewis had been voted the Best Retailer in customer satisfaction surveys at Which? John Lewis – the best? along with their sister company Waitrose and then in January John Lewis voted the best (again). Now The ERT reports that a 10,000-strong panel of shoppers surveyed by Which? voted Waitrose number one and John Lewis number two. Plus John Lewis were voted best retailer with Waitrose second in a different poll of 6,000 shoppers by Verdict Research.
