LG smart diagnosis – advancement or con?

LG have launched what they call “smart diagnosis” technology on some of their white goods appliances in the UK, which it claims will revolutionise after-sales service. Will it? Or is it pure marketing spiel?

Electrolux has been recognized by the Ethisphere Institute as one of the 110 companies in 38 industries that surpass their industry peers in the World’s Most Ethical Companies ranking of 2011 (in the Consumer Electronics section. They are the only domestic appliance manufacturer in the list.

Why are there so many appliance repair horror stories?

 One of the commercial activities particularly prone to disappointment and complaint is repairs. Having an appliance repaired quickly and at a reasonable price these days is not always possible and often completely uneconomical.

Are all these environmental issues just a big money making con?

This subject is relevant to white goods because it’s now used as a well established marketing tool employed by all manufacturers and it shapes how many of our household appliances are designed and marketed.
