Be careful of the Miele 4000 series if fitting under a worktop

Miele do a range of washing machines beginning with W 4 (the 4000 series). These models can be very well specified with professional motors and other extra features and quite competitively priced (relative to other Miele washing machines)

These models have a control panel that is virtually on the top of the lid which is angled back. However, the reason for this article is that if you intend to put one under a worktop and the worktop is not much higher than the washing machine you may find it awkward or even difficult to read the control panel and operate the washer.

This advice is especially pertinent to anyone buying online as it may not occur to you until the washing machine is delivered. Models with this design include W 4446 WPS | W 4144 WPS | W 4449 WPS

There’s nothing wrong with these models, if freestanding they will probably be easier to operate because of this design. Just make sure you would be able to operate it properly if it is intended to go under a worktop.
