The Advertising Standards Authority has upheld a complaint regarding the Indesit company’s new “revolutionary new four-door fridge freezer” under the Hotpoint brand Hotpoint Quadrio FF4DX (product advertised on Sainsbury’s Appliances site). The complainant challenged whether the claim “save up to 50% energy” misleadingly implied that the product could save up to 50% of the total energy used by a fridge freezer, rather than (merely) a saving in the energy required to restore the internal temperature of a compartment once the door had been opened.

I’ve added a new tab on the main Washerhelp navigation called Buy Appliances. This section contains all Washerhelp’s affiliates relating to appliances and tries to give comprehensive reviews of the retailer rather than just linking to them. These reviews take a long time and a lot of work and research as I’m researching all they have to offer and scrutinising their terms and conditions as well as trying to keep up to date with their latest special offers and discount voucher codes. Currently there’s a little information on each retailer but the first one to have its own page is completed – John Lewis review. I’m currently working on Comet and then Curry’s followed by all the rest.
