Are your bed bugs alive and well but respectably clean after going through your washing machine? Many people don’t wash their bedding at a high enough temperature to kill bed bugs and bacteria. Sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases need washing once a week at 60 degrees centigrade in order to get rid of them.
Bed bugs don’t drown in the washing machine – but at least they get cleaned
Customers want much faster washes
Mitsubishi have produced “the world’s quickest washing machine” (currently only available in Japan). Most people have reported it as the world’s “fastest” washing machine but to me the word “fast” relates to spin speed whereas this washing machine washes in world record time. It’s reported to be capable of washing nine kilograms (20 pounds) of clothes in just 35 minutes.
How do you pronounce Miele?
This might seem a little frivolous for consumer advice but many people do care about pronouncing a name correctly and worry about appearing foolish if they get it wrong. For years I always pronounced it, “mealy” and so did everyone else in my neck of the woods. As I do prefer to get names right I always worried I could be showing my ignorance by mispronouncing it.

30 tons of laundry washed & dried live on the Internet
I’ve long been impressed by Miele products, in particular their amazing washing machines ( Miele washing machines – build quality review ) it’s no surprise to read that Miele carried out a publicity stunt – and I use that phrase with no derogatory intentions and with the following (Wikipedia) definition in mind, “a publicity stunt is a planned event designed to attract the public’s attention to the promoters or their causes”.
