New article about renting appliances

Pros-and-cons Renting an appliance is something I haven’t dealt with before. I’m not sure it’s for me but I think for some people, renting instead of buying may be worth considering as an option. The reason I say this is because many of the cheaper appliances are no longer lasting a reasonable time, and they are costing crazy prices to get repaired. They are being thrown away after just several years of use and so some people may be spending a lot of money on buying appliances, taking out extended warranties or paying for repairs and stuck in a vicious cycle.

It’s a pity no one seems to rent out really expensive appliances such as Miele, which would be a whole new idea. Many more people might be interested in renting an aspirational appliance but as far as I can see the difficulty and expense in maintaining appliances such as Miele may put rental companies off.

I’ve had a genuine look at the pros and cons of renting an appliance and have in combination started a page displaying advertising for companies offering to rent out washing machines and other appliances. Hopefully people will see the article as genuine, and not just trying to promote renting. I don’t think I’ll get rich promoting renting ;-) but it is an area I think I should cover, especially in these hard times.
