John Lewis appliances

John Lewis – the best?

Quality-service One of my favourite affiliates is John Lewis. Over the last year I’ve bought my vacuum cleaner (a Sebo upright), my PVR hard drive recorder (a Humax) and my dishwasher (A Siemens) from them. In a run of bad luck combined with moving house I’ve also just had to order a new kettle and a Tumble Dryer today from the John Lewis web site.

As I’ve matured I’ve realised the importance of high quality service to me, and I seek to have as little stress related to purchasing as possible – especially if things go wrong. John Lewis stand out above most other retailers in that their focus is as much on customer service and satisfaction as in the good old days a long time ago. They may not be obsessed with dangling “special offers” to draw customers in but they still maintain their never knowingly undersold price promise and treat you with more respect than any other retailer I’ve dealt with. Even the delivery man called me “sir”, which was said sincerely – not sarcastically.

Awards

Over the last year I’ve read about John Lewis being awarded the Best Retailer in customer satisfaction surveys at Which? Then Waitrose was awarded Best Buy at Which? for its broadband service (which I now subscribe to) and I’ve just read that John Lewis/Waitrose have also been named Best for customer satisfaction for their credit cards in a Which? Money survey.
